DBC's children's ministry is where children learn to love God in an intimate and personal way, to love people as God has called us to do! It's a place where we make disciples as we grow in our knowledge and love for Jesus and where we strive to make a difference in our homes, church, community, and the world.

We nurture this movement as we: 

  • Impact the children of our community with the message of Christ's love for them.
  • Facilitate growth in their relationship with Jesus Christ and His Word.
  • Prepare children to discover their uniqueness and eventually God's mission and purpose for their lives

VBS 2025

Escape from Ordinary to Extraordinary

Sometimes our ordinary life can make us feel trapped. We can feel trapped by our worries, our doubts, our fears, and our sin. Sometimes we just wish we could break out and be free from these struggles. Through this escape room-themed VBS, kids will not only solve fun puzzles throughout the week, but will also learn that only God has the power to come in and break us out of the ordinary to lead us to the extraordinary.

Kids will experience exciting worship gatherings, thematic craft & snack times, energetic recreational games and more fun each day!

For kids ages 4 years old (by 9/1/25) through 5th Grade in the 2024-2025 school year. When registering use your child's COMPLETED (not rising) grade for the 2024-2025 school year.

VBS is FREE for all participants.

Volunteer

It takes nearly 250 volunteers to make Vacation Bible School a success! Please prayerfully consider coming alongside us and serving in one of the most unique events in the life of our church. Serve with your time or with your food donation. There are many areas to serve with varying levels of responsibility and commitment. Register to serve during the week of VBS here.

At DBC, the safety and security of your children are a top priority. That is why we provide a secure check-in system through Planning Center Check-ins, which provides parents with tools to securely drop off and pick up their children from our secured children's ministry spaces. 

Signing up for Planning Center Check-Ins is easy and free. Once you have created your profile, you can add your kids and other guardians, along with important medical information we may need to provide the best care for your child. 

Parents can quickly check children in using a phone number or by scanning the barcode provided in the Church Center app. Each child receives a name label, which includes the parent's phone number and any medical information pertaining to the child. Parents also receive a security label to be presented at pickup.

Create Your Profile

Kidschoir provides children ages K-5th grade with opportunities to use their musical gifts and talents to lead people in worship experiences throughout the year. We offer a student-led Christmas Night of Worship (CNOW) where kids get to present a Christmas musical. In the Spring semester, we perform a theme-inspired musical that inspires and teaches valuable lessons from God's word that are applicable to everyday life! We also sing in some of the live worship services, participate in mission opportunities, and have fun with acting so there is something for everyone!  

We will meet in the Rally room in the chapel building from 5:30-7:00 on Wednesday nights.

One of the first legacy milestones in your family’s life is the birth of a child and their dedication to the Lord. DBC’s Parent/Child Dedication ceremony is a commitment ceremony for parents and our church family. It recognizes your solemn responsibility to raise your child in a Christian home and a church where they may come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. This ceremony is not infant baptism. We do not offer baptism before a person chooses to believe in Christ. 

We ask that parents for dedication be members or active regular attendees of Dunwoody Baptist Church. Why? In dedicating your child to God, you are stating that you are willing to partner with God and the church to raise your child in cooperation with God's intentions. To partner with any church, a parent would be wise to decide if they agree with its beliefs and vision so that they can be all-in in their partnership with the church.

Next Service:  January 12, 2025 - Please complete your registration at least three weeks prior.

 The New Beginnings Class is for children as they begin their faith journey. Recommended for children in grades 2-5, the class is held during the 9:45am Bible study hour, and at least one parent must attend with their child. During this class, we will discuss what baptism is, who partakes in communion, how one follows Christ, and what it means to be a disciple. We also tour the baptistery so that your children feel comfortable about what takes place on the day of their baptism ceremony. 

DBC streams our services live online, and recordings are available via the church’s website, the Church Center app, and social media. If you have family or friends who cannot witness your child's baptism in person, they can celebrate with you online. If you have concerns about sharing your baptism on our streaming platforms, please let us know before the scheduled baptism day.
