Our Check-in System

At DBC, the safety and security of your children are a top priority. That is why we provide a secure check-in system through Planning Center Check-ins, which provides parents with tools to securely drop off and pick up their children from our secured children's ministry spaces.

Signing up for Planning Center Check-Ins is easy and free. Once you have created your profile, you can add your kids and other guardians, along with important medical information we may need to provide the best care for your child.

Parents can quickly check children in using a phone number or by scanning the barcode provided in the Church Center app. Each child receives a name label, which includes the parent's phone number and any medical information pertaining to the child. Parents also receive a security label to be presented at pickup.

Parent/Child Dedication

Answer

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it. - Proverbs 22:6

One of the first legacy milestones in your family’s life is the birth of a child and their dedication to the Lord. DBC’s Parent/Child Dedication ceremony is a commitment ceremony for parents and our church family. It recognizes your solemn responsibility to raise your child in a Christian home and a church where they may come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. This ceremony is not infant baptism. We do not offer baptism before a person chooses to believe in Christ.

We ask that parents for dedication be members or active regular attendees of Dunwoody Baptist Church. Why? In dedicating your child to God, you are stating that you are willing to partner with God and the church to raise your child in cooperation with God's intentions. To partner with any church, a parent would be wise to decide if they agree with its beliefs and vision so that they can be all-in in their partnership with the church.

New Beginnings Baptism Class

Answer

The New Beginnings Class is for children as they begin their faith journey. Recommended for children in grades 2-5, the class is held during the 9:45am Bible study hour, and at least one parent must attend with their child. During this class, we will discuss what baptism is, who partakes in communion, how one follows Christ, and what it means to be a disciple. We also tour the baptistery so that your children feel comfortable about what takes place on the day of their baptism ceremony.

DBC streams our services live online, and recordings are available via the church’s website, the Church Center app, and social media. If you have family or friends who cannot witness your child's baptism in person, they can celebrate with you online. If you have concerns about sharing your baptism on our streaming platforms, please let us know before the scheduled baptism day.
