NAOMI MINISTRY

This homecare ministry provides labor to DBC widows, widowers and elderly.

In Luke 15, Jesus uses the analogy of a shepherd leaving his flock and venturing into the wilderness to find a lost lamb. When the shepherd finds the lamb, there is rejoicing when he returns the lost one to the flock. Dunwoody Baptist Church adopts this metaphor in our approach to pastoral care ministry. If you are in a season of difficulty, we are prepared to meet you in that experience and accompany you through difficult times. You can expect privacy, confidentiality, and safe, respectful support. Where appropriate, we will refer you to one of our counseling partners who is specially equipped for your specific needs. To schedule some time with our Pastoral Care Pastor, please call 770.280.1200.

Our Disaster Relief Ministry provides preparation training and relief efforts to our community in emergency situations.

Dunwoody Baptist Church has a special referral relationship with the Atlanta Counseling Center and you may feel more comfortable contacting them directly. The ACC is a Christian organization that was founded to address relational, psychological and emotional counseling needs. Each caregiver is a professing Christian who incorporates modern counseling strategies and techniques in a clinical setting. ACC is able to bill some health insurance plans and professional fees are established on a need-based sliding scale. You may schedule your appointment with The Atlanta Counseling Center by completing their online form or by calling 770.396.0232, ext. 0. The Atlanta Counseling Center is located at 6111 Peachtree Dunwoody Road (Building C) in Sandy Springs, GA.

The role of DBC's Deacon Team is to serve the needs of people, as described in Acts 6:2-3. Deacons counsel and guide people, serving as an extension of the Pastoral Care Team and as a liaison between anyone in the congregation and the church. Deacons may visit people in the hospital or in their homes. They can help relieve suffering, offer prayer, protect, comfort and encourage people.

If you have need of a deacon and are not in a Sunday Morning Bible Study class, or if you are in a class that is not listed below, please email the Church Office to provide some details about your situation. One of the deacons will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
